TO:  Kansas City Area Principals, Associate Principals, Assistant Principals, Interns and Prospective Interns

FROM:  Dr. Robert J. Vogelaar, President of GKCMPA

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join the Greater Kansas City Missouri Principals Association (GKCMPA), the regional organization of the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP).

As president for 2007-2008, I welcome you to participate in our regional meetings and encourage you to become an active member and possibly a leader.  Our association is committed to the improvement of middle and high school education and through our meetings, members gain networking opportunities with our regional and state members.

GKCMPA is an active organization that meets four times a year.  The Fall Meeting is scheduled for November 14 at the Stadium Club, Kauffman Stadium.  Principals and Athletic Directors can join us on this day at 4 pm to hear their required MSHSAA rules.  The social hour starts at 5 pm and our dinner/meeting begins at 6 pm.

We have a Winter Meeting on February 19th in combination with an Aspiring Principal’s Conference at the Majestic Theatre in the Zona Rosa shopping area.  Our Spring Banquet is to celebrate the year by awarding recognition to the Principal of the Year, the Assistant Principal of the Year, Consummate Professional, Retirees, Rookies, and scholarship recipients.  We will be holding this banquet at the Hillcrest Country Club near Swope Park in April (specific date coming).

Our final meeting consists of a golf tournament in June.  With dues at a minimal cost of $20 for the year and a package deal for the meals, I sincerely hope you will decide to join us.  Click Here to receive a membership application.

I trust you are having a productive and positive year.  Please contact me or another member of the executive board if you have questions or if we can provide assistance.

Sincerely,

Robert J. Vogelaar, Ed.D.

President
